The Big Easy Wing, the newly organized local chapter of the Commemorative Air Force held a raffle during the National World War II Museums Air, Land & Sea exhibition in October. The winner was Mary Ann Clemons from Amite, LA. She bought a $20 ticket hoping to win a dream ride in an actual WW2 airplane. That dream came true on Saturday, November 11th as wing member Sonny Schilleci gave her a bucket list ride in his AT-6 fighter trainer.
After the ride, Mary Ann Mary Ann had this to say when she landed: “It was incredible! It is a dream come true, for sure. Amazing! I cannot express how happy, and grateful and honored I am for having this ride. I recommend everybody to do it. It is incredible being up there and enjoy everything life has to offer.”
The Big Easy Wing is grateful to Mary Ann for being such an enthusiastic winner, as she really looked the part in her WW2 era clothing bought just for the ride. For information on joining the Big Easy Wing, contact us at: [email protected]
